This year we celebrated Christmas on Bonaire for the first time. It took a while before the Christmas feeling came. I found myself associating Christmas with the cold, thick sweaters, the heating on, snow, crowds in the city and Christmas shows in garden centers. There was none of that on Bonaire, and it was mostly warm. The Christmas feeling came when in mid-November Christmas lights appeared everywhere and the roundabouts were lit up at night with decorations as I knew them from Spain.
I spent evenings driving and walking the streets capturing as much Christmas lights as I could and used those images in my Christmas video.
